BIOGRAPHY

Florice Hoffman is a candidate for the Orange Unified School District (OUSD).

The OUSD includes the cities of Orange, Villa Park, Anaheim Hills and portions of Santa Ana, Garden Grove and unincorporated Orange County. The annual budget for the OUSD is approximately $234 Million and is comprised of 40 schools and serves over 30,000 students. Florice will work to improve student achievement and educational opportunities for all students including GATE, ESL and Special needs, increase district resources, ensure student safety and increase parent participation.

Florice has been an active volunteer in our community for many years. Florice's educational experience includes the following: current Board member of the Orange Community Council of PTA's, current Legislative Representative for McPherson Magnet School Vice Chair PTA, former Vice Chair of the Orange Unified School District Legislative Coalition; former Third Vice President- Legislation of the Canyon High School PTA; former Treasurer of Grad Night at Canyon High School; and Vice Chair of KinderCaminata Inc. Florice also serves as a Board of Director of the Orange Senior Center; and as Parliamentarian of the local chapter of League of Latin American Citizens ("LULAC").

Florice is a former officer of the Anaheim Lamplighters, a local Chapter of American Business Women's Association ("ABWA"), and a member of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of the Orange County Labor and Employment Relations Association. She is also a member of the Orange County Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving ("MADD").

Florice owns her own business and practices labor and employment law in Orange, California. She is a guest lecturer on labor law at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. She has been a member in good standing of the California State Bar since 1984. Florice received her B.A. from Brandeis University in 1980 and her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law in 1984. Florice lives in Orange, California with her twin sons, who attended Anaheim Hills Elementary, El Rancho Charter Middle School and graduated from Canyon High School in June. Her sons are currently attending college in California.
