Alexander A. "Al" Ethans

Al Ethans has lived at the same house in Stanton since 1980. He has been married to his wife, Mavis for 28 years and they have four children and seven grandchildren.

Al Ethans was on the Planning Commission for one and a half years in 1994 before being elected to the City Council in 1996.

Al Ethans is currently serving on these committees: Transportation Growth Management Area Group No. 2, Orange County Vector Control District, The Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency, and the Orange County Emergency Management Organization.

Al Ethans worked in Aerospace Engineering Management for 25 years and also served in the U.S. Armed Forces (Navy and Air Force) for eight years, and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Detroit.

Al Ethans is a former Boy Scout leader both in Stanton and in Missouri. He is also very active in his church and the Stanton Chamber of Commerce.

Al Ethans is currently on the on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club, and has been on the Board of Directors for the Youth Motivation Task Force for the past fifteen years. In addition he works with the Orange County Children's Theatre in various positions including as Treasurer. This theatre is the oldest children's theatre that is still active in California.
