What is Mike's Plan for Improving Community Amenities?

By Mike Eggers

Candidate for Council Member; City of Rancho Santa Margarita

This information is provided by the candidate
Dedicate city resources to improve amenities such as parks and trails by working in partnership with the major homeowners associations. (Example: Sun shades for playgrounds.)
My plan is to dedicate city resources to improve parks and trails through partnerships with the major homeowners associations, including: Rancho Santa Margarita Land and Recreation Corporation (SAMLARC), Dove Canyon Master Association, Trabuco Highlands Community Association, Robinson Ranch Community Association, and Rancho Cielo Home Owners Association.

One of my goals would be to implement a regional shade structure program for playground equipment within city limits. This plan would not call for covering every play structure, but allow each area of the city to have a shaded play structure located close by. There are many great reasons to shade a play structure including sun protection and reducing the heat of equipment and play surfaces.

SAMLARC's Altisima Park is a great example of park with a new shade structure, even allowing for play during the midday heat. If you haven't yet seen Altisima's improvement, be sure to stop by and check out what a difference it makes.

I have experience in working with Master HOA's as a current board member of one of the largest HOA's in Orange County and have worked directly on park improvment projects.

Thanks again for your support. If you have any questions, please contact me by e-mail and I would be happy to give you more information.
