Improve Residents "Quality Of Life"

By Ronald Beldner

Candidate for Council Member; City of Laguna Woods

This information is provided by the candidate
We must protect the environment and cut down traffic pollution with the installation of the Smart Street Program, expand access to local City shopping centers, Medical Facilities, Houses of Worship, Community Center, and our new revised Dog Park and future Linear Park.
First--The immediate installation of the Smart Lane Project which does not increase traffic lanes, but provides right and left turn lanes, bike lane and sidewalks to help protect and allow our residents to get around. Our City Council Members have sat on this issue for the last ten years, and we are about to lose millions of dollars in funding.

Our City Council has not stoodup to the rumors of Manors being taken, massive rebuilding of Golf Courses, etc. and communicated this to the residents.

I will propose the City immediately utilize its powers to get this project started and finished.

Second--We need more access for golf carts, wheel chairs and assisted vehicles to get to all areas within the City Bounderies. There is no access to these residents in need to our Dog Park and future Linear Park on Ridge Route. A resident of Laguna Woods must drive a mile and a half on the average to get to these City Parks.

I will work with the owner of the land next to both locations to see if we can establish ID Card controlled gates to these Parks, so thousands of tax paying residents get their monies worth!

Third-- We need more street lighting on City Streets and within the Laguna Woods Village. The City has "right of way" access to place more light on Village streets, so our resident community can drive and walk safely at night on all streets.

At the same time we must improve signage with larger type, so residents, guests, trades people, medical workers and care givers can locate and get in and out of various city areas.

It is the City Council's responsibility to protect the safety of all its residents regardless if you live in a Gated Community, Assited Living Facility or Apartment Building, and you can be sure I will work to make this happen
