Mark Abramowitz is the president of Community Environmental Services (CES), a consulting firm providing services to a broad range of private and public sector clients. CES works primarily with companies developing innovative solutions geared towards improving air quality. With his talent for finding innovative solutions for his clients' needs, Mark has secured permits for his clients in record time, improved competitive advantages in the marketplace, and developed working relationships with regulatory staff. Mark received his education at UCLA, specializing in environmental studies, with an emphasis in air quality. His broad spectrum of training included work in air pollution health effects, air quality engineering, meteorology, law, and impact analysis. As a result, he is able to integrate policy analysis with the appropriate scientific disciplines. Mark has received numerous awards for his work, including the South Coast Air Quality Management District's first annual Clean Air Award in public education. He has authored op-ed pieces in several newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times. His work has also been the subject of television and print news features around the world. Recently, Mark served an elected term as Director of the Yorba Linda Water District, He has also served as both member and chairman of the AQMD Hearing Board; while there, he succeeded in streamlining the Board's operations, cutting costs while increasing required air quality mitigation. Mark currently serves as Chairman Pro Tem of the Yorba Linda Planning Commission. In addition, he is president of the Association of Energy Engineers, Southern California Chapter. He also serves as a board member and membership chair of the California Hydrogen Business Council. He has been a resident of Yorba Linda for the last 17 years, with his wife Penny, son Robby, and their pet Australian Shepherd-Malamute mix dog, Domino, who was a rescue from the Downey pound 8 years ago. |
