2008 Initiatives

What I would like to accomplish during my third term in office.

As a Board Member of the Three Valleys Municipal Water District, I will endeavor to accomplish the following during the term of office:

Continue to engage the Board of Directors in setting clear Board policies for the District and to provide periodic review of its policies.

Continue to maintain a commitment to "open and transparent" Board process and deliberation. Provide Audits, Financial Reports, and Annual Reports to doccument District activity.

Continue to develop fiscal responsibility through the budget process; review of prudent investments and expenditures; and setting appropriate reserves for various requirements and contingencies.

Continue to provide oversight of District management, programs, activities, operations for accountability.

Continue to establish District presence and leadership in the water community, both locally and regionally. Promote working relationships with State and Federal lawmakers concerning water issues. Seek State, Federal, and other Grant funding for water resource projects.

Increase water spreading capability of the PVPA Thompson Creek and San Antonio Spreading Grounds with improvements to the spreading basins and maintenance through actions of the Six Basins Watermaster.

Increase Three Valleys MWD water system and supply reliability with a system interconnection with the Agua De Lejos water treatment plant, new water production wells, an additional water source for the Covina Irrigating Company treatment plant, and appropriate facility replacements.

Continue to provide water conservation education and customer rebate programs for water saving appliances.
