Main Political Philosophy

By Michael Neel

Candidate for Council Member; City of Ridgecrest

This information is provided by the candidate
My political philosophy is that of the Founding Fathers of our Nation, Constitutionally limited government, with strictly outlined government functions, and the rest of the power belonging to the people.
My political views are largely voiced in the recent book written by Ron Paul, titled "The Revolution, A Manifesto"

This philosophy can be summarized as folows:

Government should only be allowed the powers strictly stated for it to exercise in the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8.

Government should at all times be held by the people to these limits.

In being held to these limits, government will be a low cost endeavor. Practices such as the onerous Income Tax would not be needed, or allowed. Overall taxes will be low due to a small, efficient government.

The freedoms of the people should be jealously guarded. Heinous laws such as the Patriot Act are blatantly unConstitutional.

The protection of the people from foreign invaders who sneak across our southern borders by the millions is the responsibility of our Government. All criminal trespassing aliens should be fined and deported.

The protection of our people from assimilation into other Nations by such unConstitutional acts such a NAFTA, GAAT, and the Trans Texas Corridor is the responsiblilty of our Government. These should all be repealed or abandoned.

Protection of the citizens lives is one of the primary responsibilities of government. This should be provided for ALL citizens, including those yet to be born. The plague of elective abortion in this great Country should be immediately stopped.

The right of the people to arm themselves and the States to form militias for their defense should be restored to our Nation.

Funding for education is inherently unConstitutional. All government Depts of Education should be immediately abolished. Let the people have full freedom as to how they choose to educate their children.

That Government is best, which limits itself and allows the people full exercise of their inalienable rights.
