To inform the voters about my background and the pledge of priorities I offer to the position of Oroville City Councilman.

• My name is David W. Pittman and I am asking for your vote for the Oroville City Council on November 4, 2008.
• As a native of Oroville, I was raised and educated here and have continued to make Oroville my home for the last 54 years.
• I was privileged to serve with the Oroville City Fire Department for 34 years beginning as a volunteer firefighter and working through the ranks as engineer, captain, battalion chief and fire chief. I retired in 2007, but continue as a part-time fire science instructor at Butte College.
• My wife, Cheryl, is a public school teacher in this community. We have three wonderful children who we grew up here and as adults have chosen to make Oroville their home. Our two granddaughters are being raised here as well. We are fortunate to have our family so close.

• My experience with representative government began early as My father served as Oroville City Councilman for 7 years in the 50's, Butte County Supervisor for 2 years and California State Senator for 4 years. Another meaningful service my father provided was President of the Feather River Project Association, which served as the advocate group for the Oroville Dam Project. I believe I offer a unique experience for a position on the Oroville City Council.

• As an advocate for Oroville, I would be honored to represent you. I value public participation and open communication throughout the community.
