As a Livermore resident for 43 years and a Teacher for 35 years I am personally concerned for the well being of 13,200 students currently enrolled in the Livermore School System. My current experience as a Livermore School Board member and my past teaching experience in different grade levels, including Special Education, has made me aware of the different needs our youth have in regards to their educational needs. I obtained my B.A. from California State University, Chico and a Masters in Governance from the California School Board Association. I also hold credentials in the areas below:

  • General Secondary, for Life
  • Special Secondary in Economics, for Life
  • Health Safety & Driver Training
  • Exceptional Child (Children with Disabilities)
  • Adaptive Physical Education
  • Post Graduate work at UCD in Political Theory, Dublin Ireland As a teacher and school board member I have served on many curriculum committees to improve educational standards. I have served as Vice President and President of San Leandro Teacher's Association and was involved in contractual negotiations and public relations.

As a Board Member I worked with parents, citizens and community organizations to accommodate cultural and educational diversity for harmonious student growth in our schools and the community. I continue to believe the importance of an exit exam at each grade level to measure the successes and failures of our educational process. I strongly believe in accountability of staff and students alike.

All children need to be prepared for future challenges. Working together as a group of parents, educators and support personnel we can pave the way for their successful education.
