POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY

It has been my privilege to serve you, the residents of Pleasanton, as your representative for the last four years on the Pleasanton City Council, for 10 years as a Pleasanton Unified School Board trustee, and for 30 years as a community volunteer for Pleasanton youth. My commitment to Pleasanton is real and everlasting.

This election is crucial to Pleasanton's future. Strong and proven leadership and commitment is needed to preserve the quality of life we all treasure in our community.

To do this we must:
1. encourage and appreciate public participation to ensure sound decision making.
2. preserve open space, ridgelines and the scenic views that add to the beauty of our community.
3. quarterly monitor the City's financial status to ensure economic sustainability and determine any corrections needed.
4. complete the update of the 1996 General Plan and have it reviewed and adopted by the citizens of Pleasanton.
5. conserve water and encourage use of renewable energy.
6. continue Bernal Park construction of open space, the Marilyn Kane Trail, the "Grand Meadow", the woodlands, the restoration of the wetlands and both the Community and Teen Centers.
7. work regionally to reduce traffic and freeway congestion seek federal and state funding, and sequence improvements including the widening of Route 84.
8. provide faster, frequent, reliable Wheels bus RAPID Transit from Livermore Transit Center to the BART station.
9. seek regional solutions to provide needed senior adult daycare.
10. build entry level smaller housing units for our children and workforce.
11. provide quality - affordable housing for our seniors.
12. continue to vigorously protect our voter approved Housing Cap.

My goal remains the same, keep Pleasanton as a healthy, safe, and attractive place to live, work, and raise a family. I ask for your vote and I sincerely appreciate your continued support in the service of our great community.

Respectfully,

Cindy McGovern
