Dear Friend, I am a practicing attorney and work for the Law Firm of Leon Mezzetti, Jr in Fremont, CA. Working as an attorney for the last 2 1/2 years has enabled me to look at the application of law and its implication in our daily lives. My desire to serve on the Washington Township Hospital Board of Directors has been brought about by a need to ensure access to health care in our local communities. having volunteered with non-profit entities and providing legal counsel to the under privileged, I have a valuable perspective from those who do not have a voice when it comes to affordable health care. With a growing and aging population in the district coupled with a myriad of changes in Medicare and Medical and the rising number of uninsured residents, the hospital will bear the responsibility of addressing these challenges. I will leverage my legal background to best represent our community on the board. Washington Hospital is a key community asset that can do better and provide a feeling of ownership and pride for residents of the district. I will work with the Board in ensuring that Washington Hospital continues to be the best hospital and the best place for our Nurses, Doctors and Employees to work and to ensure their energies are focused towards improving patient care. I encourage you to participate in an online poll on local health care issues that affect our community. This poll can be accessed at http://www.ravijohal.com. I also look forward to having an ongoing dialog with the community and would appreciate your support on November 4th. Let us work together to restore the true spirit of our Community Hospital through improved, affordable access, true transparency and excellence in health care. Ravi Johal |
