Christopher Balding has an excellent record of achievement and leadership that demonstrates his commitment to public service. An economist with the commitment to promote entrepreneurship and opportunity, he has also had experience addressing the needs of the less privileged in developing nations.

As a research economist at a prominent Los Angeles think tank, Christopher has demonstrated expertise in some of the most pressing problems facing the 34th district and the United States today. He has worked on the financial system and subprime mortgages, working to ensure that honest American families can continue to build wealth using the most dynamic and innovative financial technologies. His work also addresses expanding economic opportunity and access to credit for entrepreneurs and small businesses who drive economic and job growth in the United States.

Previously working in a investment firm, Christopher worked with a range of businesses from high technology to cement and meat processing, to ensure that businesses received the capital they needed to continue growing and employing hard working men and women. Working in the investment field, Christopher understands the challenges facing small businesses and working families.

Christopher Balding has worked tirelessly to bring economic opportunity to hard working people. In Washington DC he worked as a consultant to strengthen the legal and judicial systems of Rwanda and helped to enact economic reform legislation for Palestine. He took medical supplies to Sudan and Uganda and worked to promote microcredit in Africa.

Christopher has been married for nearly seven years to his wife Daisy who owns and operates her own small business as a practicing architect. Daisy attended Cal Poly Pomona, and understands the burden of excessive regulation on the economy of Los Angeles and the 34th district. Christopher and Daisy are expecting their first child on July 4th. Christopher received an M.A. and a B.A. from The George Washington University.
