Jared Moses has been a criminal prosecutor for The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office since 1994. He earned his undergraduate degree from New York University and his law degree from The King Hall School of Law at the University of California at Davis where he graduated in 1993 in the top 5% of his class. He was selected class graduation speaker by his fellow students and shared the stage with former Governor and future Attorney General Jerry Brown. After graduation he worked as an associate for the San Francisco law firm of Hosie, Wes, McLaughlin and Sacks, representing the State of Alaska in oil and gas litigation matters. He left the firm in 1994 to join the District Attorney's office.

Since 1994, Mr. Moses has dedicated himself to public safety and fairness. He has tried over seventy jury trials, fighting so that crime victims and their families can find justice. He has successfully prosecuted murderers, rapists, child molesters and other criminals. He spent five and a half years in the elite Hardcore Gang Division, prosecuting some of our community's most dangerous gang members for murder and attempted murder. During that time he won life sentences for twenty-five gang members.

In addition to prosecuting criminals, Mr. Moses teaches and lectures frequently. He is an adjunct professor of criminal law at Glendale College of The Law. He has lectured across The United States and California on gang prosecution and other topics for a wide variety of law enforcement agencies and groups, including:

o The National District Attorneys Association
o The California District Attorneys Association
o The California Department of Justice
o The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
o The Los Angeles Police Department
o The Pasadena Police Department
o The Glendale Police Department
o The California Gang Investigators Association
o SJSU Administration of Justice Bureau

Mr. Moses has also served his community outside of his work as a prosecutor. He participated in Project LEAD, a program created by the Crime Prevention Bureau of the District Attorney's office. As a Project LEAD participant, Mr. Moses mentored children at an elementary school in Maywood. He has also advocated on behalf of children with developmental disabilities. In 2003, he testified before the California Senate Health and Human Services Committee in opposition to a proposal to suspend The Frank Lanterman Act. This proposal, which was not implemented, would have limited or denied benefits to young children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

He is forty-six year old and has been married to Ita Garcia since 1992. They have nine year old twin boys.
