Candidate for
Supervisor; County of Los Angeles; District 5

Stephen Hinze, age 30, is running for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 5. He is a candidate of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

Stephen is a warehouse worker and working-class organizer. He is a longtime resident of Burbank with his partner, Malena, and their young child, Leila.

As an organizer, Stephen has led struggles against attacks on undocumented immigrants by the racist Minuteman Project. He has mobilized support for immigrant rights in the massive spring 2006 Los Angeles demonstrations and beyond. He stands against discrimination of all kinds and promotes full rights for all people.

Stephen also has organized anti-war demonstrations as a volunteer with the ANSWER Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), bringing hundreds of thousands of people to the streets to stop the Iraq war and bring the troops home now.

A student at Glendale Community College, Stephen advocates for free, quality education and job training for all. His community activism is integral to his life and work.
