Eduard R. Abele's lifetime of public and community service have prepared him to be an outstanding judge. He has spent his entire 20-year professional career as a criminal prosecutor for the County of Los Angeles. He has demonstrated tremendous skill and versatility during this time. He has also established himself as an aggressive and ethical prosecutor.

Mr. Abele has successfully prosecuted over 90 felony jury trials. These cases include murders, kidnappings, robberies, rapes and child abuse cases. He has worked in both adult and juvenile court. He has also been assigned as a major fraud prosecutor. Further, he has worked to make sure that violent offenders with mental disorders are not released to the community. For his efforts, Eduard was recognized with a 2008 Justice for Homicide Victims Memorial Medallion by a leading victims' rights organization.

The most rewarding part of Eduard's career has been the dedication he has shown as a sex crimes prosecutor. Many sex offenders will be in prison for life thanks to his handling of these sensitive and challenging cases. Eduard was named Deputy District Attorney of the Month in February 2002 for his work on two related sexual assault cases.

Eduard has devoted much of his personal life to community activities. He has been chair of his local neighborhood council and serves on the board of directors of his local police foundation. He has worked to improve education in the community.

Eduard passionately works for charitable causes which aid vulnerable victims. He led a group of volunteers in a tremendous endeavor that resulted in the opening of a safe harbor facility for sexual assault and child abuse victims. He also supports the Children's Assault Treatment Services (CATS) program at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Eduard has received many awards for his volunteer activities.

Mr. Abele has dedicated his professional career to making our community a safer place by successfully prosecuting violent criminals. He has a clear sense of fairness and justice. Eduard consistently demonstrates compassion for vulnerable crime victims. He also finds time to give back to the community through his volunteer efforts.
