2. Why are you running for Superior Court judge? (No more than 75 words total for questions 2 and 3.)
|
Answer from Allan A. Nadir:
Crime Victims deserve as much protection as criminals. I'll provide fair trials and sentence those who are convicted based upon their criminal conduct and history. Public safety is the foremost duty of a State Court judge.
Answer from Kathleen Blanchard:
I believe judges define our criminal justice system, by how well they know the law, and how fairly they apply it. I want to ensure that justice is served in every case, and that everyone who comes before me will be treated with dignity and respect.
3. What experiences and personal qualities best equip you to serve as judge? (No more than 75 words total for questions 2 and 3.)
|
Answer from Kathleen Blanchard:
I am compassionate and fair. As a prosecutor, I have experience evaluating the sufficiency of the evidence, taking pleas, making settlement offers, researching legal issues, and ensuring the defendants' constitutional rights are protected. I know the law well, and possess strong research skills. I have spent the past 4 1/2 years practicing complex homicide litigation, which involves consistently addressing the most serious legal and constitutional issues in the system. This practice, coupled with my former appellate and trial experience, places me in the unique position to handle all issues easily and competently, and to transition smoothly into any judicial assignment.
Answer from Allan A. Nadir:
I've conducted over 300 jury trials and administrative hearings. I've obtained several Injunctions against the most violent criminal street gangs so they stop hanging out in public, intimidating residents, and selling drugs on street corners. The public is safer.
