Gun control is the precedent to tyrannyGun control is and always has been a key necessity to controlling a society. We are sold on the idea of gun control in the name of safety. We are told we will be more safe if guns are restricted and even outlawed. Guns will always be obtainable by those who will commit crimes. They don't purchase guns legally for the most part. The only ones who will be disarmed by and large are the law abiding citizens. "If guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns". In a book published by the organization Jews for the preservation of firearms ownership, or JPFO, entitled "Lethal Laws", they lay out the case for gun control always preceding genocide. The jews are in a good position to understand gun control and it's effects. Before the genocide of the jews, private gunb owership was slowly curtailed and restricted by the weapons law bills of 1928 and 1938. When the cost of gun permits rose sharply, most people relenquished their weapons, not seeing the practical need of ownership. Finally, when the armed populus was widdled down to around 10%, the Nazi's embarked in full door to door weapons confiscation. Those who still owned weapons knew that they were a small minority so resistance was minimal. The rest is history. In the book they outline how every genocide in the 20th century was always preceded by partial gun control laws and finally full weapons confiscation. Our country is not immune to this predicament. Men are corrupt, and the more power they have, the more corrupt they become. A government will be just to the degree that it fears it's people. Government is like a fierce animal. It must be caged. It is a necessary evil. One of the founders, when asked after the signing of the constitution how we could always be able to find good men to govern, got mad and said," Don't tell me about good men, tell me about how we will bind men down by the chains of the constitution." Our constitution is a document that limits government power and secures individual liberty. It is the best there is. Let's keep it as long as possible in order to ensure a good country for our kids to inherit. |
