How I'm Different as a Candidate in This Very Critical ElectionBy Anna MayCandidate for Council Member; City of Hayward; 2 Year Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
For many years I have constantly been in motion, contributing to improvements in the Hayward community. I've been involved right here in Hayward, attending public schools from K-12, owning a small business, being a community leader and working to improve safety in my historic neighborhood, all while working full-time right here in town. My heart is in my hometown and I want to continue living in Hayward. Eventually, I want to raise my children here. First, things have to change. It's time to use my experience on a more intense level at city hall, helping to shape the future of our city and helping to make decisions that will affect our future. I have a wide variety of experiences that have enabled me to understand the bigger picture of how political decisions affect our daily lives. I have international work & travel experiences that have enabled me to better understand other cultures -- I speak Spanish & Chinese. I'm a member of an organized union (AFTRA) and also I have owned a small business and therefore understand both sides of the worker / manager relationship. Not only do I have a history in Hayward, I have a long future here too. I am very experienced in many arenas of life and our community. I'm accustomed to advocating for people, not special interests. My supporters are right here in Hayward. I have always been involved in Hayward and decided to run for city council because it goes along with what I have often demonstrated -- when nobody else is qualified to step up to the plate to work on behalf of everyday folks in Hayward, I will do so. Please support me with your vote. It will be a true honor and pleasure to serve you... |
