State of the City of HaywardBy Steve BristowCandidate for Council Member; City of Hayward; 2 Year Term | |

I've received over 200 completed surveys since they were mailed two weeks ago.....the responses are all the same...I've sent thousands of survey forms to the residents of the City---as of today (5/13) over 200 have been returned---the responses are discouraging. Seven categories are listed, and all but one, Fire Department Services, are getting mediocre to failing marks. The Fire Department has earned 'A' grades from everyone. Neighborhoods are a big problem---whether it be due to street disrepair, lack of police presence or quality of schools, residents are not happy with the living conditions in Hayward. I'd like to enhance customer service throughout the City. Coming from a law enforcement background, I'm particularly interested in serving the citizens in the best way possible with police services. I'm listening, and am returning calls/emails as soon as possible. I believe we can improve on many of these issues, and I promise to work with you to do so. Funding will be an issue, but there are strategies we can follow that will not increase the City's deficit. Contact me at 510-582-9325 if you care to share your thoughts. I'm working hard to earn, and keep your trust. |
