When we create policy and programs that help our residents and our business we are establishing Culver City as a leader. The following illustrates the bringing together of different objectives to help multiple interests. Because of this event Jeff Haas has entered into business discussions with Tesla, the electric sports car producer.
Loni Anderson for Culver City City Council is excited to be hosting a special screening of "Who Killed the Electric Car" by Chris Paine on February 29, 2008 from 7PM until 9PM at Haas Entertainment 5774 Uplander way in Culver City (90230). Chris will be on hand to discuss the film along with Chelsea Sexton one of the EV1 Specialist in the film. As part of her platform Loni is a proponent of green building and sustainable living. Culver City is already doing many things to become a carbon neutral and sustainable city, yet more could be done. Come and hear some of Loni's ideas to achieve this goal. "Who Killed the Electric Car" is a 2006 documentary that demonstrates what happened to the GM EV1 electric vehicle and discusses the technology of battery-powered vehicles. This is a thought provoking look at what is possible in electric zero emission vehicles and why such cars were removed from the road.
