Judge John L. Musmanno Judge John Musmanno's record speaks for itself. For over 25 years, Judge Musmanno has served in the Pennsylvania Judicial System, presiding over thousands of cases in all divisions of our courts-Family, Criminal and Civil-and it has been documented that he is one of our most effective, and hardest-working Judges on the bench. Among his many accomplishments is his dedication to improving the administration of justice in our Commonwealth and the efficient use of court systems and procedures. In his current position as a Judge on Superior Court, Judge Musmanno has participated in some 6000 decisions and has written over 2000 opinions on virtually every legal topic (criminal, civil and family). And, in a secret ballot referendum of over 7000 members of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Judge Musmanno has received a 91% approval rating in 2007 for retention. Here's what the Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission 2007 said about Judge Musmanno in recommending his retention: "Judge Musmanno's opinions are thorough and reasoned. He is held in high esteem by his judicial colleagues. He is highly regarded for his intelligence, courteousness, fairness, judicial temperament and professionalism." Judge Musmanno was able to attend college by earning a caddie scholarship and working at various jobs to pay his own way through Washington & Jefferson College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar. Judge Musmanno has served on many committees aimed at improving our court system and it's procedures and has received numerous awards for his outstanding judicial achievements.
