Listening and Leadership; for good and effective governance, the two are tied. On the City Council, both are essential.

The key to good communication lays in not technology nor policy, but perspective. Real communication will arise by reminding ourselves that the City Council exists to serve the residents of Foster City. When we forget this, thinking that other voices are a distraction from the ʽrealʼ business at hand, then no amount of committees or meetings will improve communications.

There are many voices in our community. I would like to promote active involvement in city governance by people of all ages and backgrounds in Foster City. I pledge that once on the City Council I will reach out, listen, and seek the advice and support of all Foster City residents. By tapping into the inspirations and talents of all of our residents we will mobilize a critical force for giving Foster City a strong and vibrant community spirit.
