Turf IssuesBy Alex PhillipsCandidate for City Council member; City of San Carlos | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
There was a citizens committee formed to recommend how to increase field time availability. They decided synthetic turf at highlands was their first choice. They met long and hard for nine months. There were representatives from the athletic leagues, the neighborhoods, the parks and rec commission, the city council, the planning commission and the school board. Their consensus recommendation was to install synthetic turf at highlands. This would substantially increase available playing time. It would not impact our schools financially nor would there be any scheduling problems. |
