Political Philosophy for Krista Martinelli-Larson

The four essential responsibilities of the City Clerk include: (1) records management, (2) election administration, (3) provision of administrative support to the City Council and the public in compliance with the Brown Act and (4) service as the people's information resource in compliance with the Public Records Act. During my career as an attorney in the government regulatory field, I have performed tasks and managed projects that have directly prepared me for these responsibilities. I have built and organized contract and records databases to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, developed and implemented regulatory compliance strategies and met clients' requests for certified records in a timely manner. I have also met with City Clerks in San Mateo County and have spent time in their offices learning the job in a hands on manner. Accordingly, under my leadership, the Office will run efficiently. Most importantly, as a daughter of the Industrial City who understands where we have come from and as an attorney that has served numerous clients on the cutting edge of the Biotechnology industry, I am well equipped to operate our City Clerk's Office into the future. In the recent past, we have seen the development of our City's Biotechnology sector and can be proud of South San Francisco's place on the map in the industry. But while we have embraced change, our core small-town values have remained essential to the success of our community. I have these values at heart and I am invested in this community. As our City Clerk, I will work to ensure that like me, my son will be proud of the City his family has long called home. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. Together we can shape the future of our City Clerk's Office. |
