When everyone tries to lead and is rowing the boat in their own direction no one gets anywhere.
Imagine a Sunday football game where one side has a well organized team of defenders and the other side has 11 quarterbacks. First off no one would hike the ball and play couldn't start because it isn't their job. If they changed the play and the quarterback grabbed the ball it would be chaos, imagine 11 guys shouting orders and trying to grab the ball! There wouldn't be anyone for the quarterbacks to hand the ball to, no one to throw to, and no one defending so they'd get destroyed by the well organized defense. Leadership involves more than taking charge, it also involves knowing how to work as a team to move the ball down field. The Hartnell board has a policy of unity and ethics which must be respected. Not everyone will agree with every decision, it's not practicle to think so, but everyone on the board must support the decision of the team. It's as much about teamwork as it is about leadership and those on the board need to be willing to work as a team.
