DANIEL H. GRESSMANN Getting things done is management. Knowing what needs to be done is leadership. And that takes vision. My vision for Ward 7 is “Quality of Life, Not Quantity of Life!” It is helpful to follow successful models to succeed. I believe that following the models of the cities to our west may not be the best idea. What about other cities? Are Santa Barbara and Montecito to our north possible alternative models? Are they suffering from their choices? Even the gentleman who wants to develop the La Sierra Land Area lives in Santa Barbara, not Riverside. It would be a shame for Ward 7, with its particular charm, to become an overbuilt, nondescript, suburban development. Personally, I am relatively young with a wife and two elementary age school children. I own a home and run a business in Ward 7. I believe I may bring a different perspective for the future of Ward 7. Plus, I believe that I as Councilperson, I am a servant of the people. All important issues will be taken to the people. I do not like someone spending my money without my having say in the matter. So, I leave it to you. Thank you. |
