Council Member; City of Riverside; Ward 7

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

STEVEN K. ADAMS
OCCUPATION: Council Member / Retired Riverside Police Officer
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The past four years I’ve had the honor to serve you on the City Council. In that time we’ve accomplished much and our quality of life is better.

More of our tax dollars are being invested in our area than ever before. Streets have been repaired and widened, parks revitalized, and new parks are to be built. La Sierra fire station is being upgraded.

As a retired police officer I know that we must take a zero tolerance stance on gangs and graffiti. This approach is making our neighborhoods safer. Crime has fallen and our community finally has its own police station.

To protect private property, I wrote a law for our community that prohibits the city from taking a home the owner lives in by the process of eminent domain. That law has now been extended citywide.

Traffic remains our greatest challenge. To reduce congestion and cut commute times, I am working on innovative ways to eliminate gridlock.

Less traffic will also help improve air quality. To control growth, I’ve worked to replace high density housing projects with single family homes.

I’d be honored to have your vote and continue serving you on the City Council.
