Governing Board Member; Yosemite Community College District; Trustee Area 2

The Yosemite Community College District is our region's gateway to higher education. Its mission is to provide quality general, vocational, and continuing education to students who are pursuing job skills, certificates, associate degrees, transferring to four-year institutions, or enhancing the quality of their lives.

As a former community college instructor I can work collaboratively with staff and students to help achieve these various educational goals.

As a member of the district's Bond Oversight Committee, I understand the needs of the district and how facilities can best be financed and constructed.

Never has the Yosemite Community College system been more important than today. Attending a community college can reduce the increasing cost of higher education and provide cost effective vocational training.

The provision of cost effective services requires an understanding of budgets. My experience as an educator and a business and building industry executive, has provided me with the skills and background needed to manage the districts' multi-million dollar annual budget.
