My passion for education is why I am running for the Yosemite Community College District. The experience I bring in education, policy, and fiscal management is the reason that I am the best qualified candidate for this position

I've served two terms on the Statewide Board of Governors for the California Community Colleges.

As a former community college student, I understand the programs and services that are vital for a solid community college program to succeed. As a UC graduate, I learned the importance of educational opportunities for students in rural areas. As an educator serving transitional adults, I work to break barriers to educational access.

Our community college district must provide quality vocational education, lifelong learning and proper job skill training to enable our students to achieve the success they deserve. My drive to promote educational services in our community is my motivation in seeking this position.

My experience in fiscal management includes oversight of the $5.3 billion dollar California Community Colleges system budget.

I have served on the California Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, member of the committees on Economic Development and Vocational Education, Educational Policy, Legislation, and Student Services and representative of the Board of Governors to the Career Ladders Advisory Board.
