As we are about to vote on many issues i would like to submit into the arena of ideas a quote from Thomas Edison. The element that makes the bond good makes the bill good also. The difference between the bond and bill is the bond allows money brokers to collect twice the amount of the bond and an additional 3 -4 percent. It is absurd to say that we can issue 30 million in bonds and not 30 million in bills. Both are promises to pay, but one fattens the usurers, and the other helps the people. |
