EducationBy Todd SpitzerCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 71 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As a teacher and elected school board trustee, I understand public education...The quality of education for our youth is of extreme importance to me, both as an Assemblymember and as a father. Having had first-hand experience with California's education system as a former high school English teacher and as a School Board Trustee, I recognize that the youth of today will be the future leaders of our state and our nation. In Sacramento, I have worked to repair our school systems, restore failing systems and preserve the success of California's leading K-12 districts, the California State University, University of California and Community College systems. Community Colleges remain and will continue to serve as a vial component and investment to our economy and our communities by providing our youth, our work force and seniors access to higher education. However, these schools have been under-funded for more than a decade. I have made a personal commitment to make educational opportunities available to all. |
