BIOGRAPHY The commitment and involvement of Curren Price in the 51st Assembly District began as a student at Morningside High School in the mid 60's. After graduating from high school in 1968, he received a scholarship to attend Stanford University, and studied at the Stanford Campus in Florence, Italy. Curren served as Deputy for two members of the Los Angeles City Council, and later as the Southern California Coordinator for a statewide association that provides training to assist community based organizations with developing commercial real estate projects. Curren currently holds both the California Community Colleges' Instructor and the lifetime California Adult Education Credential. He was also elected to the Los Angeles County and State Democratic Central Committees representing the 51st Assembly District. For the past three years, he has been a consultant with the SBA sponsored Small Business Development Center where he conducts workshops and consults on business planning. Curren is the chair of the City Council Economic Development Committee and serves as an advocate for smart growth initiatives, the enactment of regulations that are more business friendly and at the same time sensitive to the needs of working families. |
