Immigration ReformBy Paul T. IrelandCandidate for United States Representative; District 35 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Make immigration easier so fewer people sneak across the border. We should never forget that immigrants built America. When the founders created America, all one needed to do in order to live here was to show up, sign their name, and have a physical. This should still be the case. I support unlimited immigration. That's not to say I support unchecked immigration. I believe all safe people should be granted access to live and work in America without limitations on their numbers or their country of origin. I believe to make this economically feasible, we must first eliminate all unconstitutional entitlement and social welfare programs so those who are coming here are seeking opportunity rather than handouts. They will come to contribute rather than leech. The more diversity and ingenuity we have, the better our chances are in a world market. By closing our borders, we would not only violate the legacy left to us by our founders, we'd shoot ourselves in the foot by keeping the brightest and best from every culture from contributing to our success. |
