I have offered my service to the Peace and Freedom Party as a candidate for Attorney General of California because the Party actually proposes desirable efforts that can change how things are done in California, thus in the U.S., influencing processes around the world.Dear Concerned Opposition to The Way Things Are; I have offered my service to the Peace and Freedom Party as a candidate for Attorney General of California because the Party actually proposes desirable efforts that can change how things are done in California, thus in the U.S., influencing processes around the world. You can read our platform at http://www.peaceandfreedom.org/summary.htm , http://www.peaceandfreedom.org/Platform.htm, http://www.peaceandfreedom.org/. I hope you'll find it as hopeful and informative as I have. Among the outstanding proposals are removing recreational and otherwise prohibited drugs from State surveillance; stopping death penalty and three-strike sentences; actually arresting and trying corporate criminals and regaining for the State and us small investors the money those criminals have stolen from us. As well we want labor laws regained and extended to protect workers on the job and enabling us to give us all comfortable lives. A major issue I work on is called prison reform. the effort to treat prisoners humanely; to offer healing to mentally or physically ill or addicted prisoners; to offer extensive opportunities in cooperation with strong unions and good educational structures for rehabilitation; and to develop the kind of funding so that upon completion of sentences, or probation, released people can obtain comfortable accommodations and actual opportunities for inclusion + called decent jobs/study opportunities + in supportive, welcoming communities. Workers' compensation must be recreated to really take care of injured workers. I expect you'll enjoy reading our platform, the summary and the full platform, taking as serviceable to your ... to our thinking the hopeful objectives toward which to strive through customary methods. And then I ask you to contribute money to my campaign. So far I've paid ~$1200 for ballot statements, our major way of communicating with California voters. While we understand the present system sees success by whether we get elected to the offices for which we campaign, our main objective is to use electoral campaigns as another venue by which to affirm with people that our demands for all the best for us all - here and around the world - are perfectly reasonable, and, if not attainable by these elections, then attainable by working for these goals together. Our objective is socialism by acclaim, through our mutual education of what justice looks like. We do not expect to win justice at the ballot box. Socialism is an order we the people create by working together, deciding to take over the means of production, deciding what to produce and how, and getting us all able to participate in the production and distribution of all goods and services we need and like to the degree any of us is able. A major objective of socialism is that we're all able to enjoy the fruits of our labors, all able to work and play, relax and create, build, sing, sit - ALL of us. We know that permitting the available labor force to work, to produce, would require at most only a FOUR HOUR WORK WEEK!! We want to afford us all the opportunity to enjoy our ability to provide well for us all and to live most fulsome lives. I want to buy and distribute yard signs. People have asked for them. ...and bumper stickers, so we can use a major communication medium (automobiles, for better or for worse) to remind people the alternative that Peace and Freedom Party is. We distribute endless flyers at constant events, and are always mailing for the many reasons, to possible and known supporters. I want to travel throughout the state talking with people, encouraging us all, especially in these terribly painful times, to try all ways to work to protect Earth as well as ourselves through various and immense changes to how we're here. The more funds I raise the better I can do this. Do work for these changes wherever you are. We certainly do, here. You can donate either by sending a check or money order (cash contributions are illegal) or by using a credit card at a secure server through my website. To send a check, make it out to Jack Harrison for Attorney General and send it to me at 1312 Cornell, Berkeley, Ca., U.S.A., 94702. To donate by credit card use Contribute to Jack's Campaign [`click and pledge'] at http://www.jackharrison.org . If you donate $100 or more, campaign finance law requires that you give me the name of your employer. Thank you. Jack L. Harrison jacklha@pacbell.net 510-527-9584 I would appreciate your forwarding this to others whom you know might like to consider supporting this campaign. |
