Additional Endorsements for Michael Halliwell
Candidate for |
Mike Halliwell Does Not Endorse Himself in the 6th CD Race No one who is considering the possiblity of voting for a candidate they think can win should vote for Mike Halliwell instead. I lost in the June primary a well qualified candidate and voting for me will only weaken the forces in Congress who support my political philosophy, SINCE I HAVE NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER OF WINNING. My repeated public endorsements been ignored by the local press (even though I repeated my endorsements in letters to the editor). Your vote for a Republican ON THE BALLOT in this district will not elect him; this is impossible on account of the gerrymandering of our district. However, such a vote will be added to those of other GOP candidates in future court proceedings examining the fairness of California's congressional districting plan, and the higher the Republican total, the easier it will be to get these districts overturned on grounds of partisan discrimination in violation of the 14th Amendment. There are voters out there who do not share my passion for redistricting reform, who do want to protest the unfairness of a badly skewed political process. I welcome write-in votes from anyone who would otherwise not vote for the office, and I will interpret my write-in votes in my ongoing lawsuit as indicators of public disatisfaction with a process that precludes MEANINGFUL general elections for ANY district legislative offices. |
