Position Papers
Mike Halliwell: Challenging political status quo
This position paper contains the portions of my May 4, 2006 Marin Voice article in the Marin Independent Journal that fit the requirements of smartvoter.org. References to any other 6th candidate have been eliminated and replaced by references to general tendencies which I would try to combat as a member of Congress. Of course I would not encounter any other candidate in the 6th CD there, and I welcome the opportunity to discuss what I would do AFTER defeating my opponents.
Health Care is Not a Right or Freedom, Health Care is a War on Disease
Michael Halliwell gave this speech on October 28, 2004 at the Petaluma Campus of Santa Rosa Junior College. It sets forth his approach to health care reform, and does not contain any reference to any current candidate in the 6th CD.
Affirmative Action: Still a Vital Necessity for Peoples of Color
The Action Coalition for People of Color was kind enough to sponsor an April 10, 2006 joint appearance for 6th district congressional candidates. In response to their preliminary questions I prepared this position paper and sent it to them and the local newspapers in my Press Release of April 10.
