I believe that working-class people can and should collectively own and cooperatively run our natural resources and major industries. As humans, most of us are not motivated by greed, but by the desire to provide for our own needs and for the future. Therefore, we can figure out how to take care of ourselves, our children and our planet, instead of how to make the greatest profit. This political philosophy is called socialism.

I also believe in democracy. When we make decisions we must make sure that everyone has a chance to participate and that all people's rights are protected. That is why I would favor a government in which everyone has an equal vote in electing representatives. I would abolish undemocratic institutions like the U.S. Senate and the electoral college.
