Ballot Statement...By Ralph Ellsworth DenneyCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 76 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Unlike most candidates, Ralph has agreed to campaign limits and is proud to have his positions listed in the sample ballot...Common Sense... For A Change... "It's the responsibility of Government to protect the civil liberties of its citizens, provide for their protection, safety, and health, and guarantee the future of all by ensuring its young receive Quality and Relevant Education." I remember when our California Public Schools were the finest in the nation. As a single father and grandfather, I see what that system has become. Math, Science and Reading proficiencies are so poor that a third of all high school students fail. This problem will worsen as long as 45 cents of every 'Educational' dollar continues to be spent outside the classroom. Our students are crammed 'temporary' classrooms while certain districts waste over $35,000,000 on unnecessary administration buildings. As a businessman, I know what it's like to run a business in a state more interested in strangling our economy with oppressive regulations and growing its bureaucracy rather than creating and protecting jobs. As a proud Californian, I know the frustration of seeing our elected officials of both parties ignore the real problems while they fight for their personal agendas. We need commonsense solutions to the problems of the budget, our schools, our streets and our public health. I have the practical experience to find those solutions. The problem isn't enough taxes; rather, our dollars are being wasted and squandered. I have the determination to fight for real solutions, to bring to government common sense... for a change...
