San Joaquin County, CA | November 7, 2006 Election |
How I plan to improve the relationship between citizens and deputies in San Joaquin County.By Steve MooreCandidate for Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator; County of San Joaquin | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Utilizing the increase in patrol staff, putting a familiar face on the Sheriff's Office through the redeployment of patrol deputies in a community car program where deputies are regularly assigned to work within the geographic area of each unincorporated county community. This allows the citizens to become familiar with these deputies and establish a working rapport to better address local community concerns via targeted enforcement and coordination of other county services to meet the community's needs. Having command level staff conduct town hall meetings with the residents of the unincorporated communities to listen and respond to their local concerns. Continue the newly established "Citizen's Academy" to educate our citizens on the role of the Sheriff's Office and how they can better assist their deputies in accomplishing their mission of preserving the peace and servicing the community. |
