Here's the real news--and it's great!
- The State of California target for the Academic Performance Index for high performing schools and districts is 800. Our district API for 2006 is 887.
- EUSD is #31 in the state, out of approximately 1000 districts. This growth has moved us from the top 5% to the top 3% of districts in the state.
- Five of our schools have an API above 900.
- Three of our schools have an API above 800.
- One school is approaching the 800 mark.
- We continue to show growth in API scores at all schools and for all subgroups.
- All of our schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools, several of them multiple times. Most recently, in spring 2006, Ocean Knoll, Mission Estancia and La Costa Heights were recognized as California Distinguished Schools.
- Three of our schools have been designated National Blue Ribbon Schools: Park Dale Lane in 1987-88; La Costa Heights in 1998-99; and Olivenhain Pioneer in 2000-2001. Mission Estancia has just been invited to apply for National Blue Ribbon recognition for this year.
- In addition, Paul Ecke Central School was named a Title I Achieving School in 2004--one of only 214 such schools in the country, out of a possible 5000. This award was authorized under the No Child Left Behind legislation.
The leadership team which has made such success possible includes Cathy Regan, Bill Parker and Marla Strich.
On November 7 vote for continued success--vote for the winning team of REGAN, PARKER AND STRICH.
