All present Board members are actively involved with our community and parents. Board members visit schools, work with representives of the 5 cities and the County that comprise the San Dieguito District, and participate in parent committees. Parents have real time communication technology tools.For the last two years I have been the Board's Representative to our Strategic Plan Committee. Parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and the Board send representatives to Strategic Plan meetings. With Board Approval, the Strategic Plan determines the District's direction and priorities. A high priority of the Plan was Communication. A Student Information System is being implemented at all schools. Each parent is given a password to access real time attendance, grades, test scores, and assignments for their individual student. Parents are giving rave reviews because they instantly know how their students are performing and can contact teachers. Every communication is private. We also have a school newsletter. The District Web Site provides District and school information including all Board meetings and all documents discussed. |
