Higher Taxes Are Not The Answer

The answer to our budget problems is spending disciplines and a healthy economy-not large tax increases. We need to be stimulating growth-not strangling it with more taxes. I understand that we need to create a friendly business climate where we can attract new businesses, grow existing ones, and create new jobs. Burdensome tax increases won't help do that.

There is no doubt that tough choices need to be made. I will protect the things that we care about most, our public safety, our beaches, and our neighborhoods. I am willing to make the tough choices, balancing my decisions with fiscal responsibility and the needs of the community.
