Our school board must be accountable to parents and taxpayers The people who serve on the board must be willing to discuss education issues publicly, ask questions freely, and say "no" to mismanagement and misplaced priorities. Our community depends on the school board for that leadership. Steven McDowell has the experience to improve district accountability. Steven McDowell has an MBA and professionally helps companies and volunteer organizations make good financial decisions, through long-term financial planning, accurate budgeting and performance analysis. Sound financial reviews are essential for quality education. Involved and caring Steven McDowell has seen his own kids benefit from smaller class size, parent volunteers in the classroom, and enrichment teachers. He has volunteered in the classroom and on the lunch court. He is a board member and coach in Little League baseball and soccer. Steven coached softball and recently was the Nation Chief with the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA. Active in our community Steven McDowell is a member of the Del Mar City Traffic and Safety Committee. Steven and Jennifer McDowell have two children in Del Mar elementary schools and one at Earl Warren. Steven and his wife both attended elementary through graduate school in San Diego County. |
