I want to Fix The Traffic Control LightsBy John A. MartesCandidate for Council Member; City of El Cajon | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Gasoline prices are through the roof and I am fed up with it and politicians without any answers! As a resident and family man of El Cajon for over thirty years, I want to help our citizens keep more money in their pockets. One thing we can do is fix our traffic lights. Gasoline is approaching $4.00 per gallon. Our gasoline mileage in the city is very low, why? Because you stop at every traffic light! Have you noticed that when you stop at a red light, all the lights down the road are green; but by the time you get to the next light it turns red? It takes six times as much gasoline to get your car moving from a dead stop as it does to moving at a speed of 2 miles per hour. It not only costs you gasoline, but it also causes wear to your car. Simply by taking the time and using the technology that we already have, we can time our traffic lights so that we don't have to empty our pockets at the gasoline station.
