Ensuring Healthcare Services Are There for Our FamiliesBy Bruce G. KriderCandidate for Board Member; Palomar Pomerado Health System | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Our district families deserve the best possible medical care when they need it there! Health insurance doesn't do much good if you don't have reasonable access to high quality medical services during those moments in life when you really need them. This is one way voters can truly impact that outcome. One of the paramount roles for the trustees of Palomar Pomerado Health District (or any hospital district) is to plan for proper needed medical services for its' communities. Failure to do this is to fail in the job and in the trust conveyed by the public to the hospital trustee office holder. Currently, PPH is at a crossroads. Buildings are older, some no longer meeting basic building requirements and they have to be replaced or rebuilt. All need expansion to meet the growing populations. PPH is literally at one of those points in history where superb study and planning will result in stupendous results for the future. I firmly believe this. Having said that, I also believe that we have laid the solid groundwork for one of the country's top new healthcare facilities which will "exceed the scale" in almost any way you would want to measure it. It will be a hospital of the future in every way. Myself and the current trustees realize they have this opportunity to provide something truly great for the people (and the future people) of our district. We are taking that opportunity to fullfill that vision which will impact the lives in many significant ways, saving many lives and improving countless others. In summary, I originally applied for the PPH board because while I had been in healthcare since 1971 and have literally consulted around the world for other governments and countries, I had an opportunity to assist my own health district and let it benefit from the lessons and experience of those thirty-some years. Indeed, it would be selfish not to offer that. So, as an incumbent, I come before you once again ask for your support and to support me in achieving those aims described above because it really will mean a difference in how the healthcare services of this area are shaped. In fact, it already has. The medical industry is a complex industry and one which is not for the unenlightened when making multi-million dollar decisions with the public's money. You want experience behind those decisions. Just as you would not have a plumber or a stock broker designing the configuration of your future medical services, you wouldn't want a hospital expert doing your plumbing or buying your stock. The point is, experience matters - a lot. Vote for me in November and I commit to you that I will always make the healthcare services you deserve and need the focus of not only services planning and development but the focus of current day health care. |
