Political Philosophy for Bill Goulet
Candidate for |
I have lived in National City for the last 19 years. I was motivated to run for this office because I sincerely believe the people running National City are on the wrong track. They are in the midst of a huge redevelopment project that seems to favor multi unit developments at the expense of long time residents and business owners. Their priorities lie with expanding their bureaucracies. The well being of the city takes a back seat to their own ambitions. They have forgotten who's the boss. They held the City's Public Safety Hostage so they could get their sales tax increase. I believe this is only the beginning when it comes to this Council's determination to get more tax dollars. You will continue to see a multitude of fee hikes in the future. Eventually there won't be enough money and the well will have run dry. Businesses will leave the city and new ones will look to our sister cities for their new locations. I believe National City will find itself in the same predicament San Diego finds itself in today. Their voters didn't act when they should have 8 years ago. National City voters need to act now and change the face of the current city council. Our city's future depends on it. |
