Questions & Answers

1. What experience related to city government would you bring to the City Council?

I will bring tremendous experience to the Town Council. My work on a water district board, as a builder, on the Santa Clara County Planning Commissions, and my 15-year experience in Los Altos Hills converting an active quarry to a lake and residences, will help shape our town government's major function + land use, residential building and remodeling.

2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?

I am a Los Altos native who grew up attending Los Altos elementary schools and earning my undergraduate and law degrees from Santa Clara University. I joined the family farming and building business and today, with my wife Lydia, I am raising my family in Los Altos Hills.

I am a strong opponent of school redistricting which would remove Los Altos Hills students from our excellent local school districts and place them into an unproven new district. It is bad public policy that will hurt education and Los Altos Hills property values.

3. How would you balance the needs of the City as a whole with groups' interests?

I believe the local government works best when all residents are involved. I will make certain that all the residents of Los Altos Hills are notified of town government's actions, and I will work hard to endure broader participation of people of differing viewpoints on town committees.
