Promoting a strong business environment

By Brian P. Lowery

Candidate for Council Member; City of Santa Clara; Seat 5

This information is provided by the candidate
As a City Council member, it is important to reach out to the business community because businesses provide jobs for our residents and sales tax for our city.
Promoting a strong business environment for the businesses in our community will be a top priority of mine if elected because a strong and healthy business environment means jobs for the people of our city and sales tax revenue that can be used to improve our city infrastructure. In return, I will encourage companies to make greater use of our Convention Center as well as other standout city landmarks, such as Great America and Central Park. I would also like to see Santa Clara businesses participate in an 'Adopt A School Program,' donating their outdated technology equipment to a school and additionally, inviting its students to spend a day in their facility, learning how the business operates. These types of activities will foster a prosperous business environment in our community and help train our youth for the jobs of the future.
