Questions & Answers

1. What experience related to city government would you bring to the City Council?

Over the past four years, I have learned how to be an effective regional advocate for the Town, this year bringing in over $400,000 of one time regional money as well as an additional $400,000 annual increase now and into the future. As the New Town Hall Committee chairman, I gained valuable experience as we brought that consensus driven project in on-time and on-budget. I plan to use that experience as we plan the Westwind Barn restoration.

2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?

We live in a rural paradise. The challenge is to preserve the charactoristics that make our Town so unique while facilitating appropriate development and improving our infrastructure. All of us on the council agree that we should improve and enhance the condition of our pathways and build new on road paths on major arteries that lack them. In addition, we must continue to work on multiple fronts to bring back public education to our Town.

3. How would you balance the needs of the City as a whole with groups' interests?

I think to the extent that we work to improve opportunities for our children to play and go to school in our community, we not only serve their interests and those of their parents, but also of the community as a whole. As we seek to balance private property rights with the public interest with regards to development, we must strive for consistancy and predictability above all else.
