The Goleta Water District's "purpose for being" is to deliver a clean, reliable, affordable water supply to its customers. Without customers, there is no reason for being.A Board sets policy, culture, and direction. All excellent organizations share one common attribute - they are customer-oriented. I will unrelentingly foster a culture of excellent customer service at the Goleta Water District. I served as an appointee to the Goleta Water Board in 2002. As a member of the Public Information Committee, at that time I worked to promote public awareness, and involvement in the business and issues of the District. I proposed the audio taping of committee meetings in order to provide "full disclosure" to the public. In addition to building and sustaining a technical infrastructure, I believe in building and sustaining a highly skilled, knowledgeable workforce, and an environment of respect, acknowledgement, and reward for one of the District's most important resources - it's employees. |
